In Japan, a variety of building materials and components have been introduced from other countries and are used in the construction of buildings. Because some of these products do not conform to the general building criteria in Japan, it may be necessary to have performance evaluations carried out by a designated organization, such as BCJ, and to obtain the approval of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. BCJ facilitates the introduction of foreign products by providing a wide range of information about technical evaluations.
